Take a trip to India, Do not Alone! | With regard to cases of assault against women tourists recently in India, the country is no longer considered safe. Tourists, especially women, were asked not to take a trip alone.
Some countries, like the United States, Australia, Britain and Sweden have issued a travel warning related to rape Swedish tourists in India some time ago.
Tourists who intend to come to India requested extra careful and avoid roving alone, especially at night. Swiss Foreign Ministry even suggested citizens who want to go to India in large tour groups with guides legal.
Some travel bloggers also believe the same. As Mariellen Ward, a tourist from Canada who has Breathedreamgo.com blog and have been several times to India. "I always recommend the first-time tourist to India to participate in a tour group or go with friends," he said, as quoted in USAToday, Thursday (03/21/2013).
"It takes time to adapt to India. I myself have traveled for 17 months in India and felt quite safe, just having a few minor incidents," he added.
According to him, in fact the whole world is not safe for women tourists, especially those who go it alone. "cases of rape in the United States and Africa are also quite high, but it is now under the spotlight in central India as the case some time ago," said Mariellen.
Tour Operators Association of India had said the same thing. According to him, the reality in India is not as sordid as foreign media reports today.
